In a first part, the early nineteenth century agricultural product for the different regions was calculated. This resulted in a detailed database covering for the different regions important agricultural variables as land occupation, grain yields - i.e. the yearly production of meat, dairy products, skins and wool - the total agricultural output and the growth figure between those years. The second and third parts of the study are dedicated to an analysis and explanation of the early-nineteenth century agricultural development process in regional perspective. The results of the study shed new light on the question whether the Belgian Industrial Revolution was preceded by an Agricultural Revolution.
