28 May 2018 - Opening of the France-Kazakhstan Investment Forum by Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne
The France-Kazakhstan Investment Forum was inaugurated today by Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State, and Yerlan Khairov, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The forum was preceded by a meeting between Mr. Lemoyne and Mr. Khairov focusing on the main bilateral economic issues.

More than 130 people, mostly representing French firms, took part in the discussions.

This event is taking place a few weeks ahead of the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between France and Kazakhstan, signed on June 11, 2008. It marks another important step in our bilateral trade relations following the recent meeting in Astana between Bakhytzhan Sagintayev, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, and French firms operating in the country.

Kazakhstan is France’s largest economic and trade partner in Central Asia. France is the third largest investor in Kazakhstan, where our firms hold FDI stock amounting to $13.3 billion. The minister of state called for the strengthening of our bilateral economic cooperation and also drew the Kazakhstan authorities’ attention to France’s attractiveness for foreign investors.
