20 January 2020 - Meeting between M. Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne and Mr Bakhyt Sultanov, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Trade and Integration
Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, hosted a meeting today with Mr Bakhyt Sultanov, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Trade and Integration. The ministers talked about our traditional areas of cooperation (aeronautics, space, rail transport) and reviewed progress on new priority economic sectors in our relationship (agrifood, digital technology, renewable energy).

With €12 billion of investment from French businesses, Kazakhstan is France’s leading economic and trade partner in Central Asia. Kazakhstan concluded a strategic partnership with France which was signed on 11 June 2008 (under Sarkozy).

The Minister of State indicated France’s desire for a deepening of cooperation between our two countries based on the successes already seen, particularly in the high-tech industry.
