Raoul Wallenberg dies in Lubianka prison in Russia. (According to Soviet officials in 1957, he died of a heart attack, likely brought on by then State Security Chief Viktor Abakumov. According to Soviet spy Pavel Sudoplatov in 1994, he was executed by poison injection after his refusal to be recruited as a spy.)
